Meet the team

Each of the vets has their own area of special interest and they regularly attend courses to keep up to date with the latest developments in veterinary medicine and surgery. The practice consists of six veterinary surgeons.

Edward Gillic MS, MVB MRCVS, GPCertSAS.

Edward qualified from UCD in 1997 and worked in the UK for a few years before joining Moss Veterinary Hospital. He holds a Masters in European Food and Regulatory Affairs and obtained the General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2009. His interests are mainly in the area of soft tissue surgery and is particularly skilled in the field of orthopaedic surgery and fracture repair.

Cornelie Kennedy MSc, DVM, MRCVS, GPCert SAM

Cornelie qualified from University of Utrecht in The Netherlands in 2003 and specialised in small animals in her final year there. She worked in a small animal practice in The Netherlands after qualifying before moving home and has been working with Moss Veterinary Hospital since 2004. She has completed her ESVPS General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Internal Medicine. Her areas of interest are emergency medicine, pain management and internal medicine.

Peter O' Connell BSc, BVM&S, MRCVS, GPCert SAS

Peter was sourced locally from Sallins, Kildare and qualified from the University of Edinburgh in 2006 and worked for one year in mixed practice before joining Moss Veterinary Hospital. He has also obtained an honours degree in Marine Science in 2000. Peter has completed his ESVPS General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. Peter's areas of interest lie in orthopaedics, dentistry, general surgery and endoscopy.

Owen Kurt Henry BSc, AS Vet Tech, MVB, GPCertDI

Kurt hails from Kingston Jamaica and has obtained degrees in Zoology and Veterinary Technology. He worked for a number of years as a veterinary nurse in the United States before qualifying in Veterinary Medicine from UCD in 2007. He has a keen interest in diagnostic imaging as well a general soft tissue surgery. He has completed an ESVPS General Practitioner Certificate in Diagnostic Imaging. He has a specific passion for ultrasonography and endoscopy and handles the majority of our ultrasound scanning needs here at Moss Veterinary Hospital.

Lorea Nevin MVB

Lorea graduated from UCD School of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Following graduation she worked in small animal practice in Vancouver, Canada for 2 years before returning to Ireland with her cat Bertie and joining the Moss Veterinary Hospital team in July 2018. Lorea is especially interested in small animal dentistry, surgery and diagnostic imaging.

Aisling O'Mara MVB

Aisling graduated from UCD with an MVB, before this she studied a honors degree (B.Sc.) in Biological and Biomedical Science and went on to do an masters (M.Sc.) in Immunology and Global Health. Before joining us at Moss she worked in small animal practices in Newbridge and Dublin. Aisling has a zoo of cats and dogs at home! Aislings interests include pathology, soft tissue surgery and reproduction.


Their role includes assisting with surgery, monitoring anaesthetics, nursing intensive care patients, running weight control clinics and advising on the care of your pets. The Practice consists of six nurses.

Aoife Burke RVN

Aoife is from Wicklow and qualified in 2015, from Letterkenny Institute of Technology, with a BSc in Veterinary Nursing, while also obtaining a BSc (Honors) in Animal Welfare and Behaviour in 2016. Growing up surrounded by farm animals, Aoife started off in equine practice, which consisted of nursing racing and sports horses post surgery. Being new to the small animal discipline, Aoife hopes to grow her knowledge and skills with the help of the team here at Moss vets. Her areas of interest are in surgical nursing and post op care.

Laura Cooke RVN

Laura joined Moss in July 2017, shortly after completing her Veterinary Nursing degree in UCD. Laura's particular interests lie in surgical nursing and anaesthesia. Laura has four pets of her own, two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels called Callie and Bonnie and two cats called Freddie and Oliver.

Anne Kelly BSc, RVN

Anne is our head nurse. She is from Dublin originally and after completing a Veterinary Assistant course in Killester College Dublin, she decided to pursue a career in Veterinary Nursing. She went to Napier University in Edinburgh in 2005 and was there for 3 years and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS and gained a BSc in Animal Health from Napier University.Anne worked in an RCVS Tier 2 Veterinary Hospital in Northern Ireland for two years before deciding to move closer to home and started in Moss Veterinary Hospital in 2010. Her areas of interest are in medical nursing and intensive care but like the varied nature of veterinary nursing and the challenge of being able to switch between the different roles expected of a veterinary nurse. Anne is also responsible for handling most of our pet insurance claims and queries.

Hilary Fitzgerald RVN

Hilary qualified with a Diploma in veterinary nursing from UCD in 2006. She is from Sligo and has worked with Moss Veterinary Hospital since 2003. She has a particular interest in anaesthesia, medical and surgical and intensive care nursing.

Louise O'Hehir BSc, RVN

Louise is originally from Dublin and qualified in 2012, from Dundalk Institute of Technology, with a BSc in Veterinary Nursing. Louise started off in mixed practice before starting in Moss Veterinary Hospital in 2016. Louise runs our chronic care clinics and is passionate about ensuring a good quality of life for patients with long term illnesses. Louise spends a lot of her spare time training her dog in the sport of agility and this is what drives her passion in helping pet owners ensure that their pets are kept mentally and physically fit. Louise's areas of interest are medical and surgical nursing and helping pet owners enhance their pets quality of life through weight management programs.

Adrienne McGrath BA, BSc, RVN

Adrienne has lived locally in Naas for the past 12 years and was a client of Moss Veterinary Hospital before she joined the team in 2006. Adrienne studied in Athlone Institute of Technology and gained a BSc. in Veterinary Nursing in 2008. She also obtained an honours degree in Physiology from Trinity College in 2004. Her areas of interest are in surgical and medical nursing and emergency medicine.

Lesley-Anne is from Rathmoylan in County Meath. She grew up on a farm and has two horses and a cat of her own.

Grainne is from Wicklow and is a passionate animal lover! Her main hobbies include horse riding and bringing her much loved German Shepherd, Cyrus, for his country walks. She is currently studying digital marketing and hopes to continue her studies in different fields.
